Washington, D.C.
Digitized from a modern silver gelatin print from original platinum print

Ferguson, the primary organizer of the 1896 Washington Salon, corresponded with eminent photographer Alfred Stieglitz for his opinion on planning the exhibition. Ferguson and his committee did not adhere to all of Stieglitz's guidelines, and Stieglitz declined to participate in the salon in any way.
