Department of Education and Interpretation
The Department of Education and Interpretation is responsible for interpretive planning for exhibitions, and for school and after-school learning opportunities. Staff collaborates with content and design specialists to develop exhibitions, interpretive multimedia, interactive learning experiences, and broadly-disseminated educational resources that focus on exploring American history through objects. Our work is informed by audience research and evaluation, standards for physical and intellectual accessibility, current learning theories and teaching practices, national teaching standards, and community outreach.
