Division of Work and Industry

The Division of Work and Industry collects artifacts, documents, photographs, and oral histories relating to work and industry in America. The division’s collections, exhibitions, public programs, research, and writing put America’s agricultural, economic, engineering, industrial, and transportation heritage into historical context, exploring its role in society and culture and its impact on the lives of diverse people.

The division’s main areas of research, collection, exhibition, and public programming are agriculture, natural resources, timekeeping, retail, mining, engineering, industry, and transportation.
