Star-Spangled Banner State-of-the-Flag Report This 2001 report details the Museum's progress in the preservation effort of the flag that inspired the National Anthem. It explains what has been iscovered about the Star-spangled Banner, and how that knowledge informs decisions on how to best care for it. The conservation team estimates that, because of the strides they’re making in techniques and research, the life span of this national treasure might be expanded as much as 500 years. View Report
