Product Development

On ocassion Archives Center collections materials have inspired the development of new commercial products. Companies wishing to create products based on Archives Center materials must work with the Smithsonian's Office of Product Development and Licensing (http://www.si.edu/pdl/). That office, in turn, will work with Archives Center's staff to develop the product. A portion of the revenue generated through the sale of these products is returned to the Archives Center and is used to care for collection materials.
