Temperance Songs from the 19th Century, ca. 1840-1896:

- Most of the songs date between 1860-1880. There are two
songs by Mrs. E.A. (Susan) Parkhurst and several editions of Henry
Clay Work's "Come Home Father." Many of the songs are
about "father" and are related to the story of the
temperance drama "Ten Nights in a Barroom." (32 items) Click

Prohibition and Temperance, 20th Century, ca. 1900-1934:

- Most of the songs are about Prohibition, both pro and con.
"Dry campaigns," bootlegging, repeal of prohibition,
closing of barrooms, etc. are all topics. General songs about
alcohol have not been included here but can be found elsewhere in
