"Celluloid Corporation executives and employees,"

The first plastic plant built in Newark, New Jersey to manufacture "Celluloid,"
the first plastic, developed by John Wesley Hyatt in 1868. Rear view from an

Celluloid plant housed 2,000 employees and covered
27 Newark acres. This plant manufactured many other
synthetic plastics in addition to parent, "Celluloid."
