Log Hut, (painting)
- Notes
- Appears in exhibition catalog as entry no. 9
- No. 9. Log Hut; original--water and air rather too much alike; trees on the left touched with tablet colors, and not to be compared with the later efforts of the author. But notwithstanding all this, a picture of sterling worth. [P. 38; part of a group of thirty works by Codman. See entry 02440015 for related commentary.]

Log hut, after Codman, (painting)
- Notes
- Appears in exhibition catalog as entry no. 175
- No. 175. Log hut, after Codman, by C.E. Beckett--sky excellent, foliage ditto--the whole displaying a decision of touch and ability to finish, which can hardly fail, eventually, of securing to the artist a far spread and enviable fame; we doubt whether any painter in this country has ever produced a picture having fewer faults, with so little practice. [Newspaper Article 3; see entry 11110071 for companion piece.]
