Jorges Dry Card Compass

Description
This compass has a wooden bowl, paper card, and wooden box with gimbal mounts. It is a replica of an instrument in the Whipple Museum of the History of Science at Cambridge University. The inscription reads "Jorges da Costa / Mivanda afez em / Lisboa Anno 1711."
