Description
The inscription on this azimuth circle reads "GREGORY, No. 148 near the India House, LONDON." This refers to Henry Gregory (fl. 1744-1782), a mathematical instrument maker who worked at "The Azimuth Compass, near East India House, Leadenhall St., London."
