Geometric Model Stand by L. Brill, D41, 9

Description
This is one of a group of hollow wooden stands, painted black, which are designed to hold models like those produced by Ludwig Brill and Martin Schilling. It is an elliptic ring.
A paper tag on the stand reads: D41,9. A pencil mark on the bottom reads: X 2. XXXIII. Model XXXIII in Brill’s Series 10.2, is an ellipsoid with the ratio of the length of the axes 1:2:3. It has Brill’s overall number 3. In Schilling’s catalog, the same model has overall number 4 and is Series 10, Nr. 13. For the model for which this is a stand, see 1990.0571.01.
