Cart for Brute

This metal cart was created by the winemaking crew at Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, in Napa, California, for moving plastic containers of pomace (object 1998.0181.02) to the wine press. The press was located slightly above the floor of the fermentation area, and the crew needed an efficient way to move the container up the small incline. This low, wheeled cart allowed them to move the container quickly without having to lift it very high.
