1971-1972 NBA Championship Game 4 Card

The 1972-1973 Topps basketball card set features a subset of cards (numbers 154-159) that highlighted the NBA Finals series from the previous year. Card number 157 features a recap of Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks. The front of the card features an in-game action photo of Lakers Leroy Ellis and Jim McMillan rebounding the ball as New York Knick Bill Bradley looks on. The front of the card reads “Game #4, 1971/1972 NBA Championship. Ellis provides bench strength.”
The card’s reverse features the date and the Game 4 box score, which Los Angeles won 116-111 in overtime. The Los Angeles Lakers would defeat the New York Knicks four-games-to-one for the NBA Championship that season.
