Working Sketches

Description (Brief)
Gerome Ferris noted that some of the group of eighteenth-century French women’s headdresses on the unsigned sheet came from Monuments de costume physique et morale by the French printmaker Jean-Michel Moreau le jeune (1741-1814). Another source he noted was Daniel Nikolaus Chodowiecki (1726-1801), a Polish-born painter and print maker who worked in Germany.
