Mother Goose

Description (Brief)
Mother Goose by Phyllis Fraser with illustrations by Miss Elliott. Published by Simon & Schuster, NY 1942. Printed by Western Publishing Lithography Co., Racine, Wisconsin.
Mother Goose is one of the first twelve in the series of Little Golden Books published in 1942. The original books had a soft cover with blue binding and a protective dust jacket that included the signature gold spine of vines, flowers and animals. The first twelve books are listed on the back of the dust jacket.
The books were originally 42 pages long with both black and white and color illustrations. During WWII, a short poem on the back cover of the dust jacket encouraged children to support the war effort and buy US Savings Stamps and Books.
