Minimum Thermometer

Description
This is a Rutherford-type alcohol-in-glass thermometer with a spherical bulb. The back of the tube is milk white; the front has a scale that extends from -40 to +108, marked in degrees; the side is marked “U.S. 2795.” It came to the Smithsonian from the U.S. Weather Bureau.
