Experiments on the Air Pump – New System of Aerology

Description
This engraving with 30 figures appeared in the third volume of William Henry Hall, The New Royal Encyclopaedia or, Complete Modern Dictionary of Arts and Sciences (London, 1788). It illustrated the “Aerology” article in volume one. The text at bottom reads “Published According to Act of Parliament by C. Cooke No 17 Paternoster Row, Sept. 13, 1788.” Charles Cooke was an eminent and entrepreneurial publisher and bookseller in London.
