Description
This is a demonstration balance with a rectangular arm from which weights can hang. The “D. B. and S. Prov. R.I. No. 2.” inscription refers to Darling, Brown & Sharpe, a tool maker in Providence, Rhode Island, that was in business as such from 1866 to 1892.
