Balance

Description
This is an assay balance with a 24-inch aluminum beam. The case is walnut with glass panels, and two drawers in the base. The column is marked “Henry Troemner, Philadelphia.” This was probably made in 1905, when the federal Assay Office in Denver became the Denver branch of the U.S. Mint.
