Description
Small octagonal dish with circular flat well and plain everted rim; no foot ring. Well underside struck with two sets of incuse marks, an S-arc-and-rampant-lion logo above "STERLING" and "3953" at top and a semicircular mark for "J.E. CALDWELL & CO. (arched) / 925 / STERLING / 1000 / PHILADELPHIA" at bottom.
The donor received this dish as a 25th silver wedding anniversary gift in 1948.
