Description
Circular child's bowl on molded footring bordered around top by a low-relief band of emblems for nine nursery rhymes. Engraved inscriptions on opposite sides of lower body read "Virginia M\c/Kenney. / from / Grandfather and Grandmother. / McKenney / June 20\th/.. / 1900." and "Baptized, August 26\th/.. 1900. / by / The Reverend William B. Bodine D.D. / Elberon, New Jersey." Underside of flat bottom struck incuse with Gorham trademark (right-facing lion passant, anchor, and gothic or Old English "G") above "STERLING" and "A110"; a triangular, three-arrow mark is stamped to the left and "1022-18" is scratched above the trademark.
