Weighted Canister

Cylindrical, black-japanned, weighted canister or box with a gold-painted, trumpet-shaped knob soldered to the friction-fit, conical cover; painted with gold or yellow and red bands and penciling around top and sides of cover and at top and base of body. Cover has a folded-edge, overhanging top and soft-soldered, lapped seam sides with a rolled rim. Canister has a weight fitted in bottom inside and is made in two pieces, the body has a vertical folded seam and the flat bottom has a folded edge; its top edge is folded with raised bead below. No marks.
