Three-part cylindrical drip coffee maker engraved in script across lower section above spigot "Presented to Ex-Foreman, / Isaac Hale Jr. / By / Neptune Fire Association No. 8 / on the twelfth anniversary of his / Marriage / Nov 1864." Consists of a smaller upper section with bell-domed cover topped by a cast pheasant finial that has a perforated bottom to hold the coffee grounds; a larger lower section with four, equidistant, vertical, flat bands and a spigot with fleur-de-lis handle for holding and serving the coffee; and a piercework-decorated base on four, scrolled tab feet for containing a spirit burner. All three sections friction fit together. Folded seams and riveted construction. Conical-handled tamper stored inside upper section. Finial stamped incuse "4" inside cover; no other marks.
