Description
Dinner knife. Straight steel blade with rounded tip, “yankee” style bolster. Blade, bolster, and tang are one piece of steel fitted into an ivory tapered block handle with a rounded butt. Tang is held in place with a steel pin. Metal has minor scratches and discoloration. Ivory has minor discoloration and crazing.
Blade is stamped: “LATHROP & BARTON/WEST WINSTED . CT”
Maker is Lathrop & Barton, active in Winsted, Connecticut ca 1861-1880.
