The authors/song writers of the Los Angeles Bi-Centennial Commemorative song, " Los Angeles Town " , were both , military service men during WW2 and received their military training in California . Dr Watie Riley Pickens , was in the US Coast Guard, Bobby Lee Cude, Impresario, was in the US Naval Amphibious Assault Force Unit 34 , After the war, both returned to Oklahoma . But they never forgot, their California experiences . Dr. Pickens , received four college degrees, collimating with his Doctorate from the University of Florida . Impresario , Bobby Lee Cude , received two college degrees, Murray State and Oklahoma State . Soon after , receiving their education , they formed , the Cude And Pickens , BMI .Publishing Company, with a catalog of over a thousand original compositions. The tag line , of their music/song catalog operation is, "Good American Music". Impresario Bobby Lee, defines the term " Good American Music " as lyrics you can sing and melodies you can hum!
