This Dennis Layton basketball card is number 106 in a series of 264 that was manufactured by the Topps Company Inc. for the 1972-1973 National Basketball Association season. The front of the card features a posed picture of the Phoenix Suns guard on a blue background. The card’s reverse features a small cartoon image illustrating the factoid that “Dennis has great ability to penetrate with the ball,” as well as a short biography and career statistics.
Dennis played in the NBA from 1971 to 1974 and again from 1976 to 1978. Layton spent his career in the NBA with the Phoenix Suns, Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks, and San Antonio Spurs. He also played three games in the 1973-74 season for the Memphis Tams of the ABA.
