This sheet music is for the song “Kitty Tyrrell.” This Irish ballad’s lyrics were written by Charles Jefferys and the music was composed by C.W. Clover, and the sheet music was published by Lee & Walker of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania around 1852. The cover features an image of a man imploring a young woman for an unknown entreaty, who coyly looks away. The top of this cover sheet reads, “To Mrs. H.B. Claypoole of Philadelphia.” The song may have been addressed to a Mrs. Claypoole as a romantic appeal.
