Description (Brief):

This sheet music is for the song “In Zanzibar (My Little Chimpanzee)” which was written and composed by Will Cobb and Gus Edwards. Shapiro, Remick and Company of New York City published this sheet music in 1904. The cover has a background illustration of a tropical village with a variety of huts and palm tree that Starmer signed in the lower left corner. There is an inset photograph of Emma Carus in the center of the cover, who introduced the song in Fisher & Riley’s musical comedy ‘The Medal and the Maid.”
