Baseball Catcher's Mask

Description:

Steve Nicosia (b. 1955) played for eight seasons on four different teams, ending his career in 1985. Niicosia used this catcher's mask , when, as a rookie, he caught game seven of the the 1979 World Series, helping the PIttsburgh Pirates defeat the Baltimore Orioles.

Nicosia caught for the PIttsburgh Pirates (1978-1983,) San Francisco Giants (1983-1984,) Montreal Expos (1985,) and Toronto Blue Jays (1985.) The right-hander had a lifteime .248 batting average with 11 home runs and 88 runs batted in.
