Wild Theodolite (T2)

Description
This example is marked "WILD HEERBRUGG SWITZERLAND T2-50903" and was probably made around 1956. It has its original airtight and watertight steel case, and its original wooden shipping case. The letters on the steel case-DMATC 17502-refer to the U. S. Defense Mapping Agency Topographic Center. The National Imagery and Mapping Agency, successor to DMA, transferred it to the Smithsonian in 2000.
