Gurley Alidade

Description
This is a simple brass rule with beveled edge and short folding sights at either end. It is marked "W. & L. E. Gurley Troy, N.Y." and "U.S.G.S. 182." The U. S. Geological Survey transferred it to the Smithsonian in 1909.
