Description:

The inscriptions at the bottom of this satirical image of an alchemical laboratory read “Tiré du Cabinet de Mr. le Brun” and “Thomas Wyck Pinxit” and “L. Le Grand Sculp.” and “A Paris chez Chereau rüe des Matturins au coin de celle de Sorbonne.” Thomas Wyck (or Wijck) (1616-1677) was a Dutch artist.
