The National Museum of American History joins “NightGallery DC” in celebration of our grand reopening with a projected exhibition highlighting treasures from our collection, the Star-Spangled Banner, and patriotic images. Beginning at “twilight's last gleaming,” the four-story high video projections will offer onlookers a new way to experience American history.
The photographs will be projected on the Mall-side façade of the museum. The images will be grouped in four themes: the Star-Spangled Banner, featuring historic images of the flag and the conservation project; Celebration, showcasing fireworks and other patriotic imagery; Real National Treasures, highlighting objects such as George Washington’s military uniform, the scarecrow from “The Wizard of Oz” and Julia Child’s Kitchen; and Choose Your Own Adventure, presenting images of visitors in the museum.
NightGallery DC is presented in cooperation with FotoWeek DC and produced by Herring Media Group, with equipment and engineering by Quince Imaging. For more information, visit http://www.herringmediagroup.com.
