This exhibition, which was on view at the National Museum of American History April 29-July 12, 2009, is now closed.  However, a digital archive that was created in conjunction with the exhibition is still available (see below).

Share Your Story
You are invited to submit a story or photo from the 2009 presidential inauguration for a digital archive created in conjunction with the exhibition "I Do Solemnly Swear" at the National Museum of American History.  Share your story.
This exhibition featured over 30 framed color and black-and-white photographs highlighting the week-long events surrounding the historic Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama. Included in the exhibition were photographs by both professional and amateur photographers who recorded events surrounding the peaceful American transfer of power. The photographs on view included selections from the National Museum of American History's new acquisition of 2009 inaugural photographs by leading photojournalists, including David Hume Kennerly, Bob McNeely and Karen Ballard.
