More than 6,000 people are employed at the Smithsonian Institution, 300 of whom work at the National Museum of American History. The Museum employs people whose job titles range from Curator to Computer Specialist. Staff at the Museum conduct historical research, manage collections of Museum artifacts, document historic objects, design and build exhibits, work with computers, networks, and Web pages, present educational programs, develop budgets, track finances, and oversee the administration of the museum. Because of the diversity of its work, the Museum is able to offer a wide variety of employment opportunities. The National Museum of American History is an ever evolving place that in the future will have many opportunities related to new and exciting projects.
