Intern Enrichment Program

Interns with museum director Brent Glass

Along with the unique experience of working in the Museum, interns have the chance to get to know Washington. Enrichment programs, scheduled by the intern office assistants, offer interns the opportunity to talk with museum professionals and visit Washington landmarks. Previous events have included tours of the Capitol, the Supreme Court, and the Pentagon, along with gallery and exhibition talks by Smithsonian staff. Enrichment programs facilitate networking among interns and provide the opportunity for a deeper appreciation of the many facets of museum operations.

Beyond Books: Hands on demonstrations by the NMAH staff help interns to get a better grasp of how a museum operates.

A Sweet Escape: Interns take time to stop and smell the flowers at the National Botanical Gardens.

Dressed for Success: Interns enjoy a tour of a Kennedy Center Exhibit.

Lunch With a View: Interns come together for a rooftop party with museum director, Brent Glass.

The Mindless Philosopher: On a private tour of the collections, interns get to rub shoulders with the famous C3PO.
