PERFORMANCE. "Bon Appétit!"
Kenneth Slowik conducts soprano D'Anna Fortunato and a chamber ensemble in a presentation of Lee Hoiby's rarely performed short opera (with libretto by Julia Child), taken from The French Chef cooking lesson for 'Gateau au Chocolat L'Eminence Brune.' The performance is preceded by J.S. Bach's Coffee Cantata. Presented in conjunction with Bon Appétit: Julia Child's Kitchen at the Smithsonian.
