Object 14 [of 66] – Firkin with knives In arranging her several kitchens, Julia liked to have everything in everyday use at hand....conveniently out and reachable, not put away in drawers or cabinets. She kept her everyday tableware in containers on the cabinet tops, near the table, her table knives, for example, in a small wood firkin. She kept silver and "nice" china and glassware in glass cabinets in the old butler's pantry, 2 rooms back from the kitchen.
