Object 45 [of 66] – Bread Recipe on clip board In a cabinet near the wall oven sat a small metal clipboard with Julia's handwritten recipe for "pain de mie." Used to make the common, everyday square and crustless white bread baked in two rectangular lidded pans, the recipe would produce an ordinary bread good for sandwiches such as a Croque Monsieur or for the base of a canape.
