In the cyanotypes (above), the camera shutter appears to have closed later than intended for one frame of the front views. For the final collotype (below), Muybridge didn’t use three of twelve frames from either view, and reordered the remaining ones. A project assistant (circled), standing in the background, has also been cropped out of the final print. We have no record of lateral views for this series.
