Delivery of New CTA Propane Buses
Not a part of the official Smithsonian Collection
This photograph, taken the winter of 1950-1951, is one of a series in CTA collections documenting the delivery of the CTA's new Liquidified Petroleum Gas(LPG), or Propane, fueled buses. Propane gas was cheaper than diesel at the time, allowing CTA to save money on fuel costs.
