This turn-auto was used in the Brozek Garage, founded by Joseph F. Brozek in Brooklyn New York in 1910. The turn-auto was used from circa 1923-1933. |

Artifact. Approximately 16' L x 7' 5" W x 7' 5"H. Made of metal and wood. A car was driven up onto the turn-auto and then the mechanic used the crank to turn the car so that the undercarriage could be more easily accessed.

|
Early cars required frequent maintenance and repairs. Many machinists, blacksmiths, bicycle mechanics, and others started auto repair shops, and inventions like the turn-auto were designed to make the professional mechanic's life easier.
