This patent model led to Pat. #221,273.The scraper was patented on the 4th of November 1879. Patent holder Hiram W. Ball resided in Columbus Ohio. His invention incorporated a catch which when freed allowed the scoop to and dump as a separate unit without having to raise the handle.
