From the Smithsonian Collection
This delivery wagon was purchased from a collection in Baltimore, Maryland. It was collected to help build the museum's examples of common commercial horse drawn wagons used at the turn of the 20th century. This type of wagon was used to deliver all kinds of light goods to homes and businesses.

Artifact. Dimensions: 910L x 6 6 W x 87 H. Material: Wood, fabric, metal. Approx weight: 1000 lbs. This three spring delivery wagon has a wood body painted blue with stripping and scroll work. The wagon was repainted using the original patterns found on the wagon. It has a canvas covering and metal fittings. There is a label on the wagon marked "M. Martin, builder, Raspeburg, Md."
