Chevy Chase was developed as one of many suburbs in the rural areas around the City of Washington, D.C. because of mass transit. Envisioned in the 1880s, opened for development in 1892. Building continued into the 1930s.
Physical Description
Archival material. Real estate promotional brochure. The brochure included an inset showing the suburb's closeness to Washington, D. C. and surronding the plat map are illustrations of large suburban houses.

History
