History |
 |
A Pullman porter used such a brush to whisk dust off blankets or curtains. On a passenger's request, a porter might use this whisk to brush dust off heavier outer clothing. Male passengers often asked for a whisking-off of their overcoats or wool jackets just before stepping off a train.
