Emma Dailey

Division of Armed Forces History

Emma graduated with a B.A. in History from Wells College; she is now a graduate student attending George Washington University's Museum Studies program here in Washington, D.C. Emma is interning in the Armed Forces History division with Cedric Yeh, where she is working on two vastly different projects. The first involves the September 11th Collection. Emma's work includes: cataloguing TSA artifacts into the collections database, scanning comment cards from last year's 10th Anniversary Exhibit for a permanent record, and helping with two outgoing object loans to Germany and to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in NYC. The second project is called "Sweet and Sour" and it is part of the Asian-Pacific American Initiative. The goal is to document the Chinese experience in America through their food and its impact on our culture. In her own words, "It has been a life-long dream of mine to work at the Smithsonian - I still can't believe I'm actually here!" To anyone who is interested in American history and culture and wants to learn what it is like to work in an incredible museum, Emma would tell them to "hurry up and apply here!"
