Our unit manages the data about the museum's 1.2 million non-archival records and 1.7 million related digital files. I supervise digital asset staff, co-manage collections information systems staff, and develop policies, standards, and procedures to manage the life cycle of digital files/collections. Collaborating with institutions and offices, both internal and external, allows us to envision, fund, and manage mass digitization, transcription, and data sharing projects that benefit museum staff and the public. Currently evaluating more efficient ways to integrate systems, apply digital curation and preservation practices, and explore collections as data.
