My responsibilities include:
- Raising funds from corporations, foundations, and individuals to support museum priorities, i.e., exhibitions, programming, and capital needs.
- Stewardship of existing gifts through donor contact, reporting, and continued cultivation.
- Working closely with the Museum Director and Board members to identify, cultivate and solicit prospects with the capacity to make major gifts to the Museum.
Fundraising for exhibitions including, Bon Appetit! Julia Child's Kitchen at the Smithsonian; September 11: Bearing Witness to History; Separate is Not Equal: Brown v. Board of Education; Vote! The Machinery of Deomocracy; So Proudly We Hail; Azucar! The Life and Music of Celia Cruz; Hands On History and others. The Capital Campaign office is currently raising funds to complete The Price of Freedom: Americans at War exhibition as well as for the Star-Spangled Banner re-installation and the Museum's transformation project.
