David Fields is Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel at the Sunset Development Company. He is formerly Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at Bayer Properties, LLC and Irvine Realty Properties Co. An active leader in his community, he is President Emeritus of the Orange County Chapter of 100 Black Men of America and a former member of its national board. In addition, he is a founding member of the Board of Trustees of Sage Hill School that opened in September 2000 as Orange County’s first independent nondenominational high school. The California State Bar Board of Governors appointed him as the 1996-97 Chair of the 6000-member Real Property Law Section, and he also has served as Chair of the Dean’s Advisory Council for the School of the Arts at the University of California, Irvine. He has been recognized by both the Los Angeles Time and the Orange County Register and received the 2001 annual Jurisprudence Award from the Orange County/Long Beach chapter of the Anti-Defamation League for his contributions to the legal profession and to the community. Mr. Fields is an alumnus of Yale University and Harvard Law School. He resides in Birmingham, AL.
